Art Is For Everyone
Art Is For Everyone is a feel-good documentary, featuring 10 Leeds based artists, discussing creativity and where it comes from, delving into whether we are born creative or if it’s nurtured. It explores the complexities of being human, including themes of grief, gender, childhood and how this shapes their artistic process. The film aims to inspire and encourage people to be more creative.
The artists featured:
Abbie Brewer (Sunshine Child), Anna Prenelle (Bazaar Studio), Edek Thompson, Harry J Bartlett (Sassicism), James Chapman, Jas Lewis-Henman, Jess Rose, Kaitlyn Bullen (A Wiggly Line), Laura Slater and Monica Escobar.
Leeds Premiere - Howard Assembly Room
A series of photos taken by Hollie Corton at the Leeds premiere at Howard Assembly Room. 150 people came to watch the film and stayed for a Q&A afterwards. Ticket sales went to Doodle Chat CIC. We also held a private screening for 80 people at The Attic in Leeds, where we also raised money for Doodle Chat CIC.
Production
Pre-production began in February 2025 with a callout to artists to see who would be interested in being a part of our new documentary. Over 50 artists got in touch expressing an interest. Once we had our final 10 artists, we started filming interviews in March. With all filming wrapped up by the end of March, post-production could begin.
